Services
Each layer of a good yard depends on the one beneath it. We handle all of them, so the drainage, the base and the finish are built to work together.
FinishBeds, native and ornamental plantings, mulch, steel edging and seasonal cleanups designed for Zone 6a.
SurfaceInterlocking pavers and natural stone on a compacted base that won't heave when the ground freezes.
StructureSegmental block and boulder walls that hold a grade, with drain tile and clean stone behind every course.
BaseDriveways, pads and sidewalks, plus French drains and regrading that move water away from the house.
TurfWeekly mowing, fertilization, aeration, overseeding and new sod installation with regrading.
WinterResidential and commercial plowing on seasonal contracts, with a 2-inch trigger and salting before the morning commute.
Beyond the yard, the same crew handles repairs, roofing, siding and hauling, so one call covers the whole property.
Drywall, doors, trim, decks, fences and the punch list of small fixes around the house.
Leak repairs, shingle replacement and full tear-offs, with gutters and flashing done right.
Vinyl and fiber-cement siding repair or replacement, plus soffit, fascia and trim.
Garage, basement and yard cleanouts, old furniture, construction debris and brush hauled away.
Roll-off dumpsters dropped at your driveway for remodels, roofing jobs and big cleanouts.
Patios and concrete
Most patio failures in Washtenaw County start underground: heavy clay holds water, the water freezes, and whatever sits on top lifts. Every patio, walkway and driveway we pour or lay sits on a compacted crushed-limestone base with drainage planned first.
| Compare | Poured concrete | Interlocking pavers | Natural stone |

| Looks | Clean and modern; stamped or colored to mimic stone, brick or wood | Patterns, borders and color blends; the classic patio look | One of a kind; every piece is different |
| Michigan winters | Control joints manage cracking; salt is hard on the surface | Flexes with the ground; individual pavers can be lifted and reset | Very durable; set on a deep base |
| Repairs | Replace a section | Lift and reset the affected pavers | Reset individual stones |
| Maintenance | Reseal every 2–3 years | Re-sand joints every few years, optional sealer | Minimal |

Why GZZ
You talk to the person who measured, priced and will build your project, not a salesperson.
Plate compactors, laser levels, skid steer and commercial mowers, so the base is right and the schedule holds.
A start date in writing, daily updates while we're there, and a yard left clean every evening.
Free estimates with a clear scope. The price we quote is the price you pay unless you change the plan.
How we work
We walk the property with you, take measurements and grades, and talk through what you want it to do.
A written scope with a drawing where it helps, one price, and a schedule. No surprises on the invoice.
Our crew shows up when we said we would, protects the rest of the yard, and keeps you posted daily.
We review the finished work together and leave care instructions for plantings, pavers and turf.
Questions we get
Anything else, call or text and we'll answer the same day.
Concrete costs less up front and can take any shape or finish. Pavers cost more but flex with the ground, hide small movement, and can be lifted and reset if the base ever shifts. Natural stone is the most expensive and the longest lasting. We'll recommend one based on your yard, how you'll use it and your budget.
Thirty years or more when it's built on a proper base with an air-entrained mix and control joints. Reseal every two to three years, fix small cracks early, and keep de-icing salt off it for the first winter.
In most Washtenaw County communities a wall taller than four feet, measured from the bottom of the footing, needs a building permit and usually an engineered design. Shorter walls typically don't. We'll tell you up front which applies and handle the paperwork.
Late August through September is the best window for seed: warm soil, cooler air and fewer weeds. Sod can go in spring or fall as long as it's watered well. Spring seeding works but competes with crabgrass.
Most customers choose a seasonal contract: we plow automatically whenever two inches or more falls, with salting available for walks and entries. Per-push pricing is available too. Contract customers get priority routing, so driveways are clear before the morning commute.
Estimates are free and in writing. For builds, a deposit reserves your start date and covers materials; the balance is due at the walkthrough. Lawn and snow services are billed monthly.
